Donation Tins

We have recently got some cool donation tins from head office. If you would like one to put in your business, please email goldcoast at seashepherd.org and we can arrange it.

Rock Tha Coast

Rock Tha Coast, a music festival on the Gold Coast, has invited Sea Shepherd to take part. The organiser, Foundation Events Empire will be donating a large amount of the profits to Sea Shepherd. Please come along in March and support both the local bands and SS-GC. http://www.fevents.com.au/

Big Day Out

Sun 22nd Jan 2012
Sea Shepherd Gold Coast attended Big Day Out at Gold Coast Parklands, we had an 'outreach and info' tent set up. Thanks Wombat for making it look awesome!  There were about 60 bands playing, plus Kanye West, but we were too busy working to see any. Trash from The Red Paintings came to see us though! They are big Sea Shepherd supporters. The day went well, except we got rained on. The highlight of the day was when some party-goers argued about our tactics, but Mark converted them to our side, they even bought a tshirt!

Leopold's Treat

Happy 2012!

Our first event for 2012 was attending local band ‘Leopold’s Treat’ new album launch. It was held at Mandala Organic Arts Cafe, an awesome vegan cafe. The turnout was amazing, as was the music, food and the support we received. We raised several hundred dollars, wow!

Making Art

I started painting a surfboard, to include in an upcoming Sea Shepherd Art Auction. It's looking ok at the moment, I really hope it will be awesome by the time I'm done. If you wish to donate art, please email seashepherd.goldcoast AT gmail.com You have until March

This will aslo be included

Tin Can B

At the end of December, my bf and I drove up to Tin Can Bay on the 'Cooloola Coast'. It was a nice relaxing place. Neaby Rainbow Beach was awesome, it's right beside Fraser Island. There is a huge desert looking "sandblow" there. The next morning we went to Tin Can Bay's dolphin feeding. Two wild dolphins come every morning to get fed fish. I was expecting to get in the water with them, but instead about 100 tourists turned up, so everyone only got to spend 10 seconds with the dolphins. I was wearing my Sea Shepherd tshirt but no one said anything about it.

Madi

Madison Stewart, from Byron Bay, has dedicated her life to sharks. Her diving-with-sharks films are amazing! This one blew me away, words can not express how awesome it is.

Madi is currently working on an important project to save The Great Barrier Reef’s sharks. She needs as many people involved as possible. All you have to do is forward on the emails she has written to the government. See here:
